i heard an artist mention that owing someone a song is like owing them money. except, in owing someone money, you can go out and hustle and make some money to give to them. whereas with owing someone a song, you have to pull that from your subconscious. the stakes are generally higher and its sort of disheartening when people are unsatisfied.
